Book Sale - April each year
All 2007 events at the Rockingham Library unless noted
April 12 & 13- Book Sale
April 27- Dinner $12 at the United Church. Program: Connecticut River Boating Guide- slide show by the authors. Donations accepted if attending for speaker only. Reservations: Alma Beals PO Box 321, Westminster, VT 05158 by April 20th. More info- President Ellen Allman 463-5129
Sat May 26- Plant Sale- Memorial Day weekend 9-12
Video Tapes of Bob & Bob- Bob Adams & Bob Ashcroft's April 2001 presentation on the history of railroading and paper mills in Bellows Falls. $20 Donation, available at Village Square Booksellers.
In 2002, The Friends donated $5000 to the Library to help pay for the new carpeting and assisted the library in paying for a new library sign and landscaping. The Friends have donated bookcases, a Video Player & Projector to the library.
Summers (July - Labor Day) Members of the Friends operate the Library Museum on Fridays from 2 - 4 PM. The Museum has Victorian costumes, including a wedding dress, Revolutionary and Civil War Memorabilia, stereoscopes of the era, Bellows Falls Memorabilia including World War II newspapers and scrapbooks.
The Friends welcome new members ($5/year). There are forms available at the Library.
The Friends Board meets monthly at the Library on the 4th Wednesday at 12 pm and members are welcome to attend.
Tote bags on sale at the library.
Our major fund-raising efforts have been included decorated item sales, plant sales, bake sales and Bellows Falls blankets. Funds raised are used for special projects in the Rockingham Library.
