Book fairs are a fun and profitable way to raise money for your PTO, Friends of the Library or other school programs. Village Square Booksellers will bring the books directly to you and set up a mini-store, complete with the very best new books for young readers. The school must designate a secure, lockable room for a multi-day Book Fair. A percentage of all sales go to benefit the school.
We'll coordinate with your school librarian, teachers, or parent volunteers to tailor the fair's inventory specifically for your school's needs. We provide a cash register, and computerized inventory, as well as handling all accounting for the event. Sales at the Book Fair should be made by Cash or Check, since banks add credit card payments charges of 4%. Parent volunteers are requested to breakdown the fair if it is a multi-day event.
We can also arrange for local authors or illustrators to visit the school during the fair to help boost book sales. Your book fair is also a great time for parents to donate books to the school library or classrooms, so we encourage teachers & librarians to create wish lists.
If putting on a book fair at your school seems like too much work, or you think there just isn't the secure space at your school to stage such an event, Village Square Booksellers can host in-store fundraising shopping nights. Basically from 6-9 pm on a designated evening you bring the party to the store and a percentage of everything purchased will be donated to the school. Or we can design a coupon for a special weekend of in-store shopping.
