I won't lie, this was a hard book to read, but also a very important subject matter. Kristen Hannah creates a real-life story that centers on a young nurse who patriotically goes to Vietnam to serve her country and like the men we know who served in this war, comes back a broken shell of who she was. It is a story of her recovery and need for recognition, but it is also a story about a senseless and the invisible women who were there and unrecognized.
