Village Square Booksellers welcomes Vermont Author Megan Price on Saturday Oct 5 at 11am for a reading and discussion of the newest in the Vermont Wild, Adventures of Fish & Game Wardens series - Vermont Wild ATV.
The series has been a hit with readers aged 9 through 99, since its launch nearly a decade ago. The now six volume Vermont series consists of retired game wardens true stories. Whether working to corral angry moose, train reluctant tracking dogs or outsmart an endless army of wily poachers, the lawmen's stories - told as if a reader was sitting around a campfire listening in - keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Price has been called a "folklore artist" for her ability to bring these Northwoods stories to life. With family friendly language throughout, teachers use the stories in school, hunters take the books to deer camp and parents use them as bedtime stories.
Megan Price worked as an award-winning journalist, served three terms in the Vermont Legislature, then went on to work in marketing and advertising to help grow small companies. Her humorous, sometimes harrowing game warden series evolved from her love of the outdoors, action and adventure. The author is always on the hunt for more great stories. She invites retired conservation officers from New Hampshire and elsewhere to contact her. Their story just might make it into her next book!
