Mary Hutchings Reed is a retired Chicago attorney, a.k.a. First Mate Aboard Vikara, the Westsail 32 that accompanied us in our horrendous Caribbean 32 voyage in Nov '92. Sea Otter, a Pacific Seacraft 31, was also designed by Bill Crealock. So Alan & I, & Bill & Mary were soul mates amongst all the other 37-60 ft yachts in the fleet. We had plenty of adventures on the voyage from Norfolk, VA to Bermuda to St Thomas.
We've visited Mary & Bill when we have attended the Book Expo's in Chicago, they visited us here when buying their newest sailboat, confined to the Great Lakes near their home. Both Vikara & Sea Otter are having adventures with new owners...
But I am digressing- Mary's now an author and I'd like to feature her books.
The book is based on Mary Hutchings Reed's (Yale Law, '76) personal knowledge of what goes on behind those beautifully veneered law firm doors.
